Independent Living
Our journey began 10 years ago when Helen and Mark set out to find support that better suited their daughters needs and goals. Unable to find a service that reflected their values and beliefs, they created their own. The goal was to work with Members to build life skills with support that worked alongside them, not for them.
A conscious decision was made to refer to users of WithNot4 as ‘Members’ because we understand we are not the experts in your life, you are. You belong to our organisation not as a client, but as a Member.
Our Story
-
We ensure our Members are actively engaged in life. Our Independent Life Assistants (ILAs) work with you, not for you. Our priority is to assist you to develop your independent living skills, live a full life engaged in the community, and make informed decisions.
-
WithNot4 believes the title ‘support worker’ doesn’t fit for our employees. Our goal is to build as much independence as possible for every Member, so they can lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. We believe in this so strongly that we’ve literally put it in the title of our employees, who are Independent Life Assistants.

Meaningful Learning
The power of great Independent Living Assistants (ILAs)
Being an ILA is about so much more than assisting people with daily tasks.
It’s about creating daily opportunities for learning, growth and independence.
An everyday task such as shopping can support a range of NDIS goals, including:
Developing independent living skills
Building confidence in the community
Improving communication and social skills
Learning budgeting and money management
Making informed choices and decisions
Our ILAs know when to step in and when to step back, encouraging the people we support to lead their growth, make their own decisions and build independence, one small task at a time. -
Celebrating the moments that matter
We love seeing the connections, achievements, and personal growth that happen when people are supported to explore their interests and take on new opportunities.
This is what meaningful support is all about; creating opportunities for confidence, independence, and belonging while celebrating each person’s unique journey.
Here’s to Emma and the amazing progress she continues to make!

Considering Joining a Provider?
Are you an independent support worker looking for the right balance between flexibility and support?
Joining a registered NDIS provider can give you access to a wider range of opportunities, professional development, administrative support, and the confidence that comes with working within a compliant and quality-focused organisation.
At WithNot4, we value the experience, skills, and individuality that support workers bring to our Members. We work hard to create meaningful matches, provide ongoing support, and foster a culture where both Members and workers can thrive.
If you're looking to focus more on delivering great support and less on managing the behind-the-scenes administration, we'd love to hear from you.

The Right Support - The Right Outcomes
he Right Match Makes All the Difference
At WithNot4, we know that great support starts with genuine connection.
That's why we take the time to carefully match our Members with Independent Living Assistants (ILAs) based on more than just availability. We consider personality, interests, communication styles, goals, and what matters most to each person.
When the right people are matched together, support becomes more than a service. It creates opportunities for trust, shared experiences, and positive outcomes.
Whether it's developing new skills, pursuing personal goals, getting involved in the community, or simply enjoying everyday life, the right match can make all the difference.
Connection. Compatibility. Choice. That's what meaningful support looks like. -

We loved seeing Jessianne give archery a go and absolutely enjoy the experience! It’s always exciting to see Members try something new, build confidence, and discover new interests along the way, and getting a bullseye is a pretty great bonus too!
At WithNot4, we’re all about supporting Members to explore new activities, have fun, and continue building skills and independence in ways that matter to them.
If you’re an existing WithNot4 Member in the Eurobodalla region and would like to give archery a try (or explore other new activities), we’d love to hear from you!
We look forward to seeing Jessianne, and others, continue to try new pursuits and enjoy every step of the journey.

Peron Centred Emergency Preparedness
Two WithNot4 Staff had a great experience at the Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) workshop, focusing on inclusive, community-wide planning that puts people’s needs and strengths at the centre of emergency preparedness.
It was a thoughtful and practical session exploring how individuals and communities can build realistic, personalised plans for emergencies, recognising that safety and wellbeing look different for everyone.
Grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside others who are passionate about making emergency planning more accessible, collaborative, and person-centred.
Stay Tuned: More information will be shared with our Members in the coming weeks.

Way to Go RJ!
We’re proud to celebrate RJ and the achievements he has made working towards his goals; and to recognise the incredible impact of the right support in achieving great outcomes.
With the consistent encouragement of his ILA support, RJ has built strong routines, confidence, and momentum at the gym. Showing up session after session, he puts in the hard work, brings a positive attitude, and never backs down from a challenge.
This is a great example of how dedicated support, combined with determination, leads to real progress.

Shout out to Super Swimmer Amy!
Local legend and swimming champion Amy is into day 12 of her Super Swim in the month of February, raising funds for the Starlight Foundation. She is currently well on track to crush her goal of 16km!!We stopped by the pool to watch her in action, Supported by her WithNot4 ILA Annie, and talk to her about her goal to help sick kids.
Amy likes to channel her inner Little Mermaid (Ariel) while she swims and enjoys a tasty protein ball as her pre-swim fuel.
Amy is proud of herself for tackling this challenge and we are too!
You can help Amy reach her fundraising goal by donating here: https://superswim.org.au/a-foot

Your Interests, Your Journey, Your Way
Support planning is an important part of the NDIS, and at WithNot4, we see it as more than a requirement. It’s an opportunity to understand what matters to you and support you to explore your interests, build your skills, and work towards your goals.Your plan should reflect your life, your choices, and your future; because meaningful support starts with what’s important to you.

"Invisibility" isn't magic - it's a skill
At WithNot4 we believe invisibility is the quiet, powerful work that happens behind the scenes; the listening, the encouraging, the advocating, and the small everyday moments that help someone else shine. It’s not about being unseen but about putting the focus where it belongs: on the person you support, their voice, their choices, and their independence. -

Susan's Story
SUSAN'S STORY Finding Freedom with WithNot4
For much of her life, Susan was told not to expect independence. “The nuns said, ‘Don’t worry, you’ll get married, have children and won’t need to hear,’” she recalls.
Living with hearing loss shaped many of her choices. She avoided swimming, something she always loved, out of fear of missing her family calling for her if she removed her hearing
aid….
Check out Susan’s full story on our Social Media. -
